Katie Beelaerts van Blokland
Katie supports Marietje in her work on the Committees of Foreign Affairs (AFET) and International Trade (INTA). Previously she worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hague during the Netherlands EU Presidency.
Katie studied International Law at Leiden University and Politics and Government in the European Union at the London School of Economics (LSE).
Frederiek supports Marietje in her work in the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and the Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI).
Previously Frederiek was a trainee at the political department of the Dutch Embassy in Washington DC and worked at the Center for Transatlantic Relations, part of Johns Hopkins University's SAIS. She studied International Relations at the University of Amsterdam.
Mathias supports Marietje in her work on digital trade, the reform of the dual use regulation, the digital single market, cybersecurity, and digital rights.
Previously he worked for the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the protection of human rights while countering terrorism, the Belgian Intelligence Oversight Committee, and the Centre for Law, Science and Technology Studies at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels. He has also worked as a consultant on the links between civil liberties, security policies and new technologies for a wide range of public and private organisation. Mathias has an LLM in international law and has submitted his PhD on the right to privacy in the European Union.
